Common questions
Who is the electric utility in 43212?
AEP Ohio delivers power to most of 43212 (Columbus) and handles outages and repairs. Some addresses inside Columbus city limits get power from the City of Columbus Division of Power instead of AEP Ohio. Those accounts can't pick a retail provider, so check who sends your electric bill.
What areas does 43212 cover?
Most mapped businesses in 43212 are inside Columbus city limits. The ZIP also reaches into Grandview Heights. The mailing city is Columbus, and your utilities follow the address, not the mailing city.
How many businesses are in 43212?
The Census Bureau's 2023 County Business Patterns counted 973 business establishments in 43212 with about 16,465 employees. That ranks 43212 53rd among 1,222 Ohio ZIP codes by number of businesses. Businesses here on AEP Ohio can shop for supply the same way homes can.
Can I choose my electricity provider in 43212?
Yes, if your bill comes from AEP Ohio. Ohio lets homes and businesses buy power from a certified retail provider while AEP Ohio keeps delivering it. You can also stay on the standard offer.
What is AEP Ohio's Price to Compare?
It's the per-kWh supply price you pay AEP Ohio if you don't pick a provider. It's printed on your bill and changes during the year. An offer only saves money if it beats that number over the whole contract.
Who do I call when the power goes out in 43212?
Call AEP Ohio at 800-672-2231 or report it online. Your retail provider doesn't fix lines. If a line is down, stay away from it and call 911.
Is 43212 in an electric aggregation program?
Clean Energy Columbus enrolls most AEP Ohio customers with a Columbus billing address unless they opt out. You can opt out any time with no fee and choose your own provider.
Who provides natural gas in 43212?
Columbia Gas of Ohio is the main gas utility mapped for 43212. If you smell gas, leave right away, then call 911 and 800-344-4077 from outside.
