Free Nights & Weekends

Pay nothing for energy at night and all weekend.

Free nights and weekends plans charge $0 for the energy you use inside an off-peak window — commonly 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weeknights, plus all day Saturday and Sunday. Run the laundry, the dishwasher, the EV charger, and the AC at night, and that energy is free. Enter your ZIP to see live plans and find the window that fits your home.

Free energy in a set window, every night and all weekend.

In competitive Texas you choose a retail electric provider (REP), and your utility — Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP Texas, TNMP, or Lubbock Power & Light — still delivers the power. On a free nights plan, the energy charge is $0 inside the plan’s window. Delivery charges apply as they do on every plan. Daytime energy is priced higher to fund the free hours, so the plan pays off when a good share of your usage lands in the window — and for a lot of Texas homes, it does.

Three questions before you enroll.

The free window works best for homes that can put real usage inside it. Here’s how to tell if yours can:

  1. When is your home busiest?Evenings and weekends — cooking, laundry, everyone home — is exactly the pattern these plans reward.
  2. What can you shift into the window?Dishwasher, laundry, EV charging, pool pump, pre-cooling the house before a hot afternoon. Each one becomes free energy.
  3. What does your weekday afternoon look like?Heavy AC while working from home all day? Compare against a fixed-rate plan at the same usage — we show both for your ZIP.
