Common questions
Who is the electric utility in 44677?
AEP Ohio delivers power to most of 44677 (Smithville) and handles outages and repairs. Some addresses in and around 44677 are served by an electric cooperative such as Holmes-Wayne Electric Cooperative. Co-op members aren't part of Ohio's choice program, so check who sends your electric bill.
What areas does 44677 cover?
Most mapped businesses in 44677 are inside Smithville village limits. The mailing city is Smithville, and your utilities follow the address, not the mailing city.
How many businesses are in 44677?
The Census Bureau's 2023 County Business Patterns counted 59 business establishments in 44677 with about 549 employees. That ranks 44677 594th among 1,222 Ohio ZIP codes by number of businesses. Businesses here on AEP Ohio can shop for supply the same way homes can.
Can I choose my electricity provider in 44677?
Yes, if your bill comes from AEP Ohio. Ohio lets homes and businesses buy power from a certified retail provider while AEP Ohio keeps delivering it. You can also stay on the standard offer.
What is AEP Ohio's Price to Compare?
It's the per-kWh supply price you pay AEP Ohio if you don't pick a provider. It's printed on your bill and changes during the year. An offer only saves money if it beats that number over the whole contract.
Who do I call when the power goes out in 44677?
Call AEP Ohio at 800-672-2231 or report it online. Your retail provider doesn't fix lines. If a line is down, stay away from it and call 911.
Is 44677 in an electric aggregation program?
Many Ohio cities, villages and townships buy power for residents through an aggregation program. Check the supply section of your AEP Ohio bill or ask the Village of Smithville whether you're enrolled. You can still choose your own provider.
Who provides natural gas in 44677?
Gas service maps in 44677 show more than one system, including Enbridge Gas Ohio, Ohio Cumberland Gas and Northeast Ohio Natural Gas, and some rural addresses use propane. Check a recent gas bill for the property. If you smell gas, leave right away and call 911 from outside.
