Oncor Electric Delivery is a transmission and distribution utility (TDU). It owns poles, wires, and meters across much of North Texas. It does not sell you a retail electricity plan. The company that sells the kilowatt-hours is a retail electric provider (REP). Switching REPs does not change who restores an outage.

Delivery stays with Oncor. Outage calls, meter reads, and storm restoration stay with Oncor no matter which REP you pick.
